This video, celebrating the establishment of the Edmonton Council of Muslim Communities Chair in Islamic Studies at the University of Alberta, was shown at the official announcement ceremony on January 17, 2006. It subsequently was a winner at the 1st "Mosquers Video Contest", held on 19 January, 2007.
It explores what this chair means to Muslims and the wider community in Edmonton and Canada, in terms of the diversity of traditions, cultures and interpretations within Islam. It does this in the context of Muslim settlement in Edmonton and the history of Islamic civilizations. Read more about this initiative here.
